Plumber in Norman Park, Minutes Down Wynnum Road

Norman Park is a two to three kilometre run down Wynnum Road from our Barwon Street office, so it is one of the fastest jobs we take. Most Norman Park bookings get a same-day or next-day two-hour window, and burst pipes and gas smells jump the queue. If you ring first thing, there is a good chance we are there that morning.

It shapes a lot of the work we do down there. The low streets near the creek drain slowly in heavy rain, which backs water up in stormwater lines and finds any gap in the sewer that is not sealed properly. The elevated streets have the opposite problem, with fast run-off overwhelming undersized downpipes. We look at where your water actually goes before recommending anything.

Galvanised supply pipe is the big one. It rusts from the inside, so the pressure drops slowly over years and nobody notices until a new bathroom goes in. After that it is earthenware sewer lines with root intrusion, and old vent stacks that were never resealed after a reroof. None of it is urgent on its own. All of it is cheaper to sort before it fails.

Renovated Queenslanders on those streets tend to hide two or three generations of plumbing in the same wall cavity, and the under-house runs are rarely where the plans say. We open up carefully, keep the mess contained, and show you what we find before we change anything. Character homes deserve a bit more patience than a new build.
